How to Purchase a Permit

Prior to taking any driver education class, the student must purchase a permit from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The permit must be purchased at least two (2) weeks prior to the start date of class. The student must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian. The DMV will perform an eye exam. If your student wears glasses or contacts, please be sure to bring them. You will inform the DMV that you are using instructor Jason Jerome.

All of the following is mandatory at the time of purchase:

• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Picture ID
• Verification of Compliance (VOC) letter

The VOC letter is obtained from the student's school. If the student is home schooled, there is an affidavit to be signed at the DMV.
